The ILP CV builder is a very clever system that pulls in content you have entered throughout different sections of your ILP and puts them in an easy to edit and use CV builder. Create a CV and the view you recieve will be the same as yoru ILP homepage with all the pods and content you have entered. Simply click the cross on a pod or a whole section to remove content you do not want to send for that particular CV.
If you have any comments that you have invited people to make on particular schools or work experience entries you can select which, if any, go out with the CV.
You can even choose which colours you want to sue on your CV and whether to include a profile picture of yourself.
Once you are happy you have a few options. You can Save and Send as it is. This will require the persons email and name you are sending it to. You can also add a reason that will appear in the email they receive as well. This might be something like 'Can you please have a check over this for me before I send it to an employer' or maybe 'Please follow the link in this email to view my interactive CV for consideration onto your Art & Design A Level course' etc etc. Once it is sent you can see a summary of where it has gone and as soon as the user clicks the link you sent them your ILP will update to say what date and time it was viewed so you know when someone has taken a look. What the person will receive is an email with a link. Clicking the link will take the user to the ILP site and show them the snapshot of your ILP page that you have set out in the CV but without the main navigation and ability to edit and remove content. They will see the pods with content, can look at files you have selected and watch any videos you have included.
If you do not want to use this innovative CV format you can also choose a CV template from the list and either download it as a PDF to email it to people or download it as a word document so you can edit it further. What this does it takes all the content you have chosen when creating your CV and converts it into the template you choose. The interactive CV mentioned previously even has a Download as PDF button on it so when a user is viewing the interactive CV they can take a PDF version for their records.
If you want your CV checking before it is send, remember, you can simply do this through the ILP. Create the CV you want to send and send it to your tutor asking for feedback.
